Olde South Homes,
Inc. a 6-time MAME Builder of the Year award winner, has teamed up with Bank of
America to offer “energy-efficient mortgages” to those who purchase a new
Energy Star home built by Olde South Homes.
Through Bank of America’s Energy Credit mortgage program they will pay
$1,000 toward closing costs and Olde South Homes will pay an additional $3,000
toward those costs.
These “green”
mortgages are based on the fact that a more energy-efficient home will result
in lower monthly utility bills; while standard mortgages are calculated on a person’s
debt-to-income ratio. Therefore, a home
buyer will be able to qualify for a more expensive home because they will have
a higher income from spending less on utilities bills.
Olde South is now
using Energy Star products in the neighborhoods of Holly Glen, Whippoorwill,
Bay Ridge and all future sites.
Olde South Homes, Inc
is currently building throughout the Triangle: Ashbury in Mebane, featuring
homes from the $180’s; Bay Ridge in Durham,
featuring home from the $190s; Holly Glen in Holly
Springs, featuring home from the
$250s; and Whippoorwill in Cary, featuring homes from the $340’s.
